I chose rocket kits and motors because they are a good way for the students to apply Newton's 3 Laws of motion as well as math concepts of measurement and geometry. The students will build and customize their individual rockets as well as do experiments on how changing the rocket mass or rocket motors might change the acceleration and distance traveled. Applying the theories and concepts learned from reading will help the students more fully comprehend and remember what they have learned, and someday be able to use them to solve other problems they may encounter in the future. We also play team sports that help build synergy skills. These team sports include flag football, ultimate frisbee, basketball, and capture the flag. The pinnies will be able to help the students differentiate between the opposing teams, thus leading to more enjoyment of these sports.
