With our new 42-hole spiral punch, students were able to create their own customized sketchbooks by choosing the types of paper and pages that best fit their needs as artists. Instead of using a standard, pre-made sketchbook, they were able to think about how they wanted their books organized and create something that felt personal to them.\r\n\r\nStudents also got to experience the bookmaking process firsthand by punching and spiraling their sketchbooks by hand. For many of them, this was their first time seeing how a spiral-bound book is actually made! The new equipment has allowed us to make sketchbooks that are more useful, customizable, and meaningful to students while introducing them to a new creative process.
