They immediately wanted to explore them and asked when they could start using them.\r\n\r\nWe are using the materials during small group time. A specific moment that stood out was during a board game activity. At first, several students wanted to go first, but we practiced taking turns and using kind words. Within a few days, students began reminding each other, \"It's your turn,\" and \"Let's share.\" They are clearly improving their patience and teamwork.\r\n\r\nWe are also focusing on caring for the materials. Students clean up after each activity, return pieces to their containers, and handle everything gently. They understand that if we treat the games with care, we can preserve them for a long time so everyone can enjoy them.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to continue using these games to strengthen cooperation and problem-solving skills. Students will work in small teams and reflect on how they worked together. Thanks to your support, our Ajolotes community is growing not only academically, but also socially as they learn to share, take turns, and care for their classroom resources.","fullyFundedDate":1770401659912,"projectUrl":"project/the-importance-of-board-games-in-childre/9802452/","projectTitle":"The Importance of Board Games in Children’s Development","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Belén","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8497614_orig.png?crop=334,334,x113,y132&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755736574016","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8497614"},{"teacherId":8497614,"projectId":9545360,"letterContent":"The opportunity for my students to read our new Spanish titles has had a very positive impact. They feel motivated and excited to read books in Spanish, and many are eager to explore new reading options. As a bilingual school, providing high-quality literature in Spanish strengthens literacy development and helps expand our students' vocabulary in meaningful and authentic ways.\r\n\r\nThese new texts support important reading skills such as phonics, decoding, fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary. They also allow students to practice making predictions, identifying main ideas and details, and discussing characters, settings, and key events. These help students build confidence and develop stronger reading habits.\r\n\r\nSeveral students have especially enjoyed the new books because they feel represented and connected to the Spanish language. For bilingual learners, reading in Spanish increases confidence and supports language growth. Overall, these books have increased student engagement and encouraged a stronger love of reading in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1764598852512,"projectUrl":"project/support-spanish-literacy-at-our-bilingua/9545360/","projectTitle":"Support Spanish Literacy at Our Bilingual Montessori School","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Belén","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8497614_orig.png?crop=334,334,x113,y132&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755736574016","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8497614"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_95436","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":555,"numTeachers":42,"percentFrplEligible":7,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":14,"percentWhite":44,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":28,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"13.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":70.1,"schoolId":95436,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Lamb Public Charter School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Lamb Public Charter School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/district-of-columbia/district-of-columbia-public-charter-school-board/latin-america-montessori-bilingual/95436"}
