The treats have been a wonderful boost, and they serve as a fun reminder that people like you are supporting them every step of the way. I'm also incredibly grateful for the printer ink, writing utensils, and classroom supplies like tissues and antibacterial wipes—these thoughtful items have made the College & Career Center a more welcoming and effective space for everyone.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of myself and my students, I can't thank you enough for your kindness and belief in them. European History textbooks. Since the two hurricanes hit us in 2024, we have lost nearly two weeks of instruction, which was very difficult to plan for, especially since this was my first-year teaching A.P. European History. With the textbooks, I'm able to provide the content students' need in a shorter amount of time. These books do ana amazing job of condensing what students need to know for the A.P. exam into smaller, more manageable pieces. \r\n\r\nI have used these textbooks in two ways so far. The first is giving students weekly reading from the text. I start by pulling out all the key terms and making guided notes for the students. The students then have to read over the course of the week and complete the notes. Then, as I lecture about a topic, they go in and add annotations to their guided reading. This allows me to ask more higher-level questions and have students contribute more fully to questions and class discussions. I am very pleased with student current engagement now that they have an easier textbook to read. \r\n\r\nI also plan to have students use them as a review tool for past units. We are currently on Unit 6, so there are many past units that students haven't had the textbooks for.","fullyFundedDate":1734113392503,"projectUrl":"project/reading-for-advanced-placement-european/8961987/","projectTitle":"Reading for Advanced Placement European History","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ferguson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9756409_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1734206446546","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9756409"},{"teacherId":9756409,"projectId":8797684,"letterContent":"I want to thank you for buying my class 30 laptop chargers! As you know, Pinellas County Schools gives every student a laptop, which is an amazing achievement and truly helps students with their studies, classwork, and projects. However, each laptop is packaged with a single charger and students often leave their chargers at home or in another classroom. \r\nThanks to your donation, the burden of transporting both the laptop and charger and the risk of losing access to their technology have been lifted from my students and I'm now able to ensure they can always have fully charged laptops in my classroom. \r\nThis gift is particularly impactful for students who feel comfortable in my classroom and use it as a safe space to work on their projects and online coursework. They can freely leave their chargers at home and take advantage of the resources I have available thanks to your generosity.","fullyFundedDate":1732205117815,"projectUrl":"project/charge-up-learning/8797684/","projectTitle":"Charge Up Learning!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ferguson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9756409_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1734206446546","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9756409"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_46894","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":2059,"numTeachers":82,"percentFrplEligible":92,"percentAsian":6,"percentBlack":16,"percentWhite":45,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":25,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"25.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":75.0,"schoolId":46894,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Largo High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Largo High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/pinellas-county-schools/largo-high-school/46894"}
