I am a first year high school teacher pioneering a new program. The Automation and Production Technology program gives students an outlet to be college or career ready by exposing them to hands on, self-paced learning situations.The students learn topics including (but not limited to): SolidWorks 3D Design, programming a robotic arm, CNC machining, programmable controllers, electrical control systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanisms, machine tools, welding and thermal dynamics. Being a first year program does come with its bumps, but the students are very engaged and enjoying learning about real world applications. To help ensure student success I am working on many different projects to hopefully create community contacts for my students to be introduced to all the opportunities out there!
