Your contribution—including the baby crib, the high chair, the family, puzzle, the doll house, and pretend cleaning toys have transformed this space into a vibrant hub of learning.\r\n\r\nThe Impact of Your Support\r\n\r\nBecause of your kindness, our students are now actively engaging in:\r\n\r\nOral Language & Literacy: Students are negotiating roles, using complex vocabulary to describe household tasks, and practicing \"writing\" grocery lists and recipes.\r\n\r\nSocial-Emotional Development: By \"acting out\" family roles, children are building empathy, practicing cooperation, and learning how to navigate social interactions in a safe, guided environment.\r\n\r\nMathematical Thinking: Whether they are setting the table for four \"guests\" or sorting play food by category, they are building foundational skills in one-to-one correspondence and classification.\r\n\r\nSeeing Your Donation in Action\r\n\r\nThe joy in the classroom since the center opened has been palpable. Watching the students take pride in \"cooking\" a meal for a friend or carefully organizing their new \"home\" reminds us of the power of community support in early childhood education.\r\n\r\nYour investment in our classroom goes directly toward building the confidence and competence of our youngest learners. Thank you for being a \"changemaker\" in our students' lives and for helping us create a space where they feel safe to explore, imagine, and grow.\r\n\r\nWe would love to share a few photos of the students enjoying the new space (while respecting our privacy protocols) so you can see the direct result of your generosity!\r\n\r\nWith sincere appreciation,","fullyFundedDate":1758757601007,"projectUrl":"project/tk-family-dramatic-play-center/9750815/","projectTitle":"TK Family Dramatic Play Center","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lim","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4357530_orig.jpg?crop=910,910,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1758643746344","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4357530"},{"teacherId":7257392,"projectId":9054440,"letterContent":"Your generous donation made a HUGE impact on my classroom and my student! All 310 of my students in grades TK-4th were able to make wonderful pop art food sculptures inspired by Claus Oldenburg out of clay. While clay isn't too costly as a material, the shipping is usually a hindrance since it's very heavy. My students were so excited to use this material and have an amazing tactile experience.\r\n\r\nIn preparation for the lesson, we looked at discussed Claus Oldenburg's work, particularly his food sculptures. We also discussed how food is a very common thread in many artworks and how we can connect through food socially and culturally. \r\n\r\nThe students chose as a class what type of foods they wanted to create. They had a choice of breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack foods. They had to choose as a class and from there they were able to decide individually what they wanted to create from a list of food items that I knew they would be able to recreate successfully. \r\n\r\nTo culminate this project, we had an art show and set up our auditorium to look like a cafeteria with all of their food displayed on tables with red checked tablecloths. The students were so proud and the parents and faculty were very impressed.
