I could tell that it lifted a weight off their shoulders, allowing them to go about their day with confidence, focusing on their schoolwork and being a teenager. Some students were shy about asking for help in the past, but once the resources were visible and available, they felt more empowered to take what they needed without hesitation. It has been nice to these students be more willing to participate in class and more at ease with themselves.\r\n\r\nOne specific moment that stands out happened last semester when a student who is not enrolled in any of my classes walked up to me and asked for hygiene products. I imagine that it must have taken the student some courage to do so, but the look on their face once they grabbed what they needed reassured me that this closet was in fact doing the work I wanted it to.
