Their faces lit up as they began exploring with Magnatiles, translucent shapes, and numbers. One of their favorite activities has been using translucent letters to build their classmates' names!\r\n\r\nThe light table has quickly become one of the most loved areas in our classroom. Students are using it to build towers, create patterns, and match numbers to groups, all while practicing teamwork, problem-solving, and early literacy skills. Their enthusiasm has made it clear how powerful this tool is for both learning and play.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are excited to incorporate the light table into our literacy and math lessons. Our next project on the light table will be building all kinds of lines and letter construction - important literacy skills students will get to practice while building their fine motor skills. Thank you for giving my students such a magical and meaningful way to learn. Your generosity has truly made an impact in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1746486271563,"projectUrl":"project/light-up-our-learning/9301698/","projectTitle":"Light Up Our Learning!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Oyler","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7257084_orig.jpg?crop=2400,2400,x0,y224&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1746031361417","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7257084"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_69727","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":560,"numTeachers":28,"percentFrplEligible":14,"percentAsian":6,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":74,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":6,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"20.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":100.0,"schoolId":69727,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Langston Hughes Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Langston Hughes Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/kansas/lawrence-unified-school-district-497/langston-hughes-elementary-school/69727"}
