Additionally, they use the carpet and the chairs to read to their buddies who are in second grade. Due to their wiggly nature, they are much more comfortable with alternative seating arrangements. I truly believe that they feel more at home in the classroom thanks to the materials that you all donated. \r\n\r\nAdditionally, their reading scores will go up when they can focus in the quiet of the headphones and the comfort of the carpet and the chairs.\r\n\r\nWe have been using the highlighters as well. We use them to highlight the main idea, details, characters and vocabulary words. This year, I had a combination class made up of 2nd and 3rd graders, but I was left without the manipulatives to help support my second-grade learners with their basic counting skills. \r\n\r\nStudents absolutely loved the variety of counting materials ordered. The tiny bears, ducks, and frogs were a hit with students. They would often ask to count them when they finished other activities, even though they had been counted hundreds of times by the end of the year. The students loved the flash cards and asked to use them daily to outwit their friends and show their skills. \r\n\r\nOne of my most trying students who would not sit for more than 5 seconds at any given time. Sat down for an hour one day, counting out a thousand tiny teddy bears and dividing them by color. I had no idea this child could actually sit and focus that long. I was also pleasantly surprised he could count past one hundred.
