I must say that from the beginning this experiment had the attention of every student. Everyone was fully invested in doing the background research for this experiment. You gave them the opportunity to make real world connections between their schooling and their lives. The impact was great. Conversations overheard were exciting to hear them talking about the energy drinks and what they do the body. Excitement and anticipation was in the air as the day approached for the arrival of the daphnia. Students were amazed to see what happened to the daphnia's heart rates as the energy drinks were added to their water. \r\n\r\nSome of the students stated that they would cut back on drinking energy drinks. Others made comments that they would continue drinking them but may drink the ones that are \"healthier\" like the Celsius brand we tested.
