Because of your generosity, snacks have become powerful tools for learning rather than just treats. My students are now regularly requesting items using their communication devices, picture exchange systems, gestures, and emerging spoken words. We practice core words like \"want,\" \"more,\" and \"eat\" in real, motivating situations, which has led to increased engagement and authentic communication attempts. For many of my students, these moments represent major progress using communication with purpose and confidence in a way that feels natural and rewarding.\r\n\r\nWith the snacks you provided, I can reinforce positive behaviors, increase motivation during structured lessons and therapies, and maintain the consistency that my students depend on to feel safe and regulated. Snacks have helped me extend learning time, support speech and language goals, and create calm, predictable routines throughout the day. Something as simple as a favorite snack has made a profound difference in my students' ability to participate, focus, and succeed. My students use the new seating options throughout the day during structured work time, small groups, and calming breaks. I have already seen powerful moments where a student who typically struggles to stay regulated was able to remain engaged simply by choosing a seat that met their sensory needs. One moment that stands out was watching a student independently transition to a calming seat instead of escalating what could have been a meltdown became a breakthrough. These resources have allowed my students to access learning in ways that traditional desks never could.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new seating options, their reactions said everything. Some immediately gravitated toward the movement-based seating, while others carefully explored the softer, calming options. Several students smiled, relaxed their bodies, and settled into learning faster than I have ever seen before. For students who often experience anxiety or sensory overload, these materials communicated something powerful. They realized that the classroom was designed for them. The sense of comfort and ownership they felt was immediate, and it translated directly into improved focus, reduced behaviors, and greater willingness to participate.\r\n\r\nNext, we are using this flexible environment to build stamina, independence, and self-regulation during academic and social learning activities. Students are learning how to choose seating based on their needs and the task at hand, an important life skill that supports long-term success. As we continue working on engagement, communication, and social interaction goals, this adaptive seating allows every child to access learning in a way that feels safe and respectful. Your support has helped create a classroom where barriers are removed and every student feels capable. Your support has made a meaningful impact in our third-grade classroom, and my students truly appreciate your kindness.\r\n\r\nWhile my students are beyond traditional dramatic play, we use the stand as a learning tool to support personal and social skill development. The materials are incorporated into lessons focused on communication, collaboration, and real-world problem-solving. For example, students have used the stand to model real-life situations such as respectful communication. These activities allow students to practice speaking clearly, listening carefully, and responding appropriately and in a meaningful way.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, they were excited and curious about how they would be used. Many students immediately began sharing ideas and asking thoughtful questions about real-world connections. It was especially rewarding to see students who are typically reserved feel more confident participating in discussions and role-based activities.","fullyFundedDate":1758981581953,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-young-minds-through-creative/9760463/","projectTitle":"Empowering Young Minds Through Creative Interactions","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sears","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10280722"},{"teacherId":9317881,"projectId":9745249,"letterContent":"On behalf of our students and staff, thank you for your generous donation in support of our PBIS Quarter 2 Winter Carnival. Together, they made buddy photo frames to capture their shared memories and strengthen school-wide connections.\r\n•\tGrow as \"Team Green Bean\": Your generosity helped us foster a positive and collaborative environment where every child feels valued, just like the members of our special class \"Team Green Bean\".\r\nYou have made a tangible difference in the daily lives and early educational experience of our students.
