Your generosity has provided my TK-SDC students with new opportunities to learn, move, explore, communicate, and develop important skills through outdoor play.\r\nMy students have a variety of learning, developmental, communication, sensory, and social needs. Some of my students are nonverbal, and many benefit from hands-on activities, movement, repetition, visual supports, and learning through play. The outdoor materials from this project give them another environment where they can be successful while working on their individual skills.\r\nWe are using the new resources for sensory exploration, gross-motor activities, outdoor games, movement, and interactive play. While my students may think they are simply having fun, they are also practicing important skills such as balancing, coordination, following directions, making choices, taking turns, waiting, sharing, and interacting with their peers.\r\nThe outdoor materials also create natural opportunities for communication. My students can practice requesting an item, asking for help, indicating \"more\" or \"all done,\" and communicating with their classmates and adults. For my nonverbal students, we can support these interactions using gestures, pictures, visual supports, and other forms of communication.\r\nIt has been wonderful to watch my students explore the new materials. Some immediately wanted to participate, while others needed modeling and encouragement. Seeing them become more comfortable, independent, and confident has been very rewarding.\r\nOutdoor learning is especially valuable in our classroom because movement and sensory activities can help students regulate their bodies and prepare for classroom learning. Our next step is to continue using these resources to strengthen communication, social skills, gross-motor development, independence, and participation.\r\nThank you for believing in my students and helping me create an outdoor environment where every child has opportunities to play, learn, communicate, and grow. Your generosity has made a meaningful difference in our classroom, and we are extremely grateful for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1778181881550,"projectUrl":"project/outdoor-fun-for-preschool/10206915/","projectTitle":"Outdoor Fun for Preschool","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Andrea","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10315057"},{"teacherId":10315057,"projectId":9835895,"letterContent":"I want to extend my deepest gratitude for your generosity.
