I have witnessed the power of snacking. The students are focused. The atmosphere is more relaxing. Students get more done during class which leads to more relaxation time at home. \r\n\r\nA lot of my students are not able to bring in snacks from home. This allowed everyone to have a snack to enjoy. Sophie, one of my students, asked some students to write down what they thought the snacks did for them. Those quotes were included in the group picture. We also took a classroom picture which is from one seventh grade class. These snacks were also enjoyed by another seventh grade class and two eighth grade classes over three days spread out every other week. \r\n\r\nThis is the first year I have ever used donors choose. When I got the email about The Tepper Foundation, I was excited to apply for snacks as I see what the snacks provide for the students. I was not sure if I would be selected. I appreciate the fact that you chose my classes to sponsor. We have also started making our own science books to learn about animals in life science. Our lockers are freshly decorated.\r\n\r\nThere is nothing like having new pencils and crayons when starting new projects. Those little touches bring so much excitement and joy back into the classroom. Without your caring, the fresh excitement would not be possible.
