Instead of being confined to traditional desks, students now have the freedom to choose where and how they learn best. This movement and choice have created a more inclusive, energized, and student-centered learning environment.\r\n\r\nI've seen students who used to struggle with focus now thriving because they can move when needed. Others feel empowered and respected by simply having a say in where they sit. Our classroom has become more than just a room—it's a space that adapts to the needs of the learners within it.","fullyFundedDate":1748871354203,"projectUrl":"project/ditch-the-desks-a-flexible-seating-pro/9250922/","projectTitle":"Ditch the Desks: A Flexible Seating Project","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Aronson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8632457_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1764686889029","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8632457"},{"teacherId":8632457,"projectId":8991612,"letterContent":"Playdough and Legos have had a significant impact on indoor recess by fostering creativity, problem-solving, and fine motor skills. These toys encourage children to collaborate and engage in imaginative play, whether they're building structures or crafting their own unique designs. The tactile nature of Playdough allows for hands-on exploration, while Legos promote teamwork as kids often work together to build. On the other hand, soccer equipment and footballs have greatly enhanced outdoor recess by encouraging physical activity, teamwork, and strategic thinking. These items bring children together in collaborative games that require communication, leadership, and a sense of shared purpose. The fast-paced nature of soccer and football not only promotes fitness but also teaches valuable social skills, such as cooperation and fair play, as children learn to work towards common goals. Together, these different sets of equipment foster a balanced development of both the mind and body, enriching the recess experience for kids. Thank you for donating to this project and therefore allowing my students to engage in these meaningful activities.","fullyFundedDate":1734711753725,"projectUrl":"project/sportsmanship-and-creativity-for-recess/8991612/","projectTitle":"Sportsmanship and Creativity for Recess","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Aronson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8632457_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1764686889029","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8632457"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_90073","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":437,"numTeachers":36,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":6,"percentBlack":16,"percentWhite":12,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":59,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"12.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":72.2,"schoolId":90073,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Lafayette Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Lafayette Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/pennsylvania/school-district-of-lancaster/lafayette-elementary-school/90073"}
