Many of my students are English Learners, and reading can be challenging when they are still developing both language and confidence. With Amira, students are able to read out loud and receive immediate feedback, which has helped them improve their fluency, pronunciation, and overall comprehension. The read-aloud support allows them to hear correct models of language while also practicing independently. I have seen students who once struggled to decode words begin to read more smoothly and understand what they are reading at a deeper level.\r\nThere are several students in my classroom who have especially benefited from this technology. For example, some of my quieter students, who are often hesitant to speak in front of others, have gained confidence by practicing with Amira first. This has carried over into classroom participation and speaking assessments. Other students who previously struggled with reading are now more engaged and willing to take risks because they feel supported. Overall, this technology has not only improved their academic skills but has also helped them become more confident learners.","fullyFundedDate":1762266276083,"projectUrl":"project/amira-headphones/9689306/","projectTitle":"Amira Headphones","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Celaya","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10068414_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1751402581435","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10068414"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_82542","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":259,"numTeachers":15,"percentFrplEligible":66,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":2,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":96,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"17.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":100.0,"schoolId":82542,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about La Casita Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"La Casita Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-mexico/clovis-municipal-school-district/la-casita-elementary-school/82542"}
