Students are using the boards to create polished displays for their projects, including marketing plans, financial information, charts, and other visuals that support their presentations. Having sturdy, professional-quality materials has allowed students to focus on the content and delivery of their presentations rather than worrying about how to display their work. It has been especially rewarding to see students take ownership of their boards and carefully organize their information to make their ideas clear and engaging for judges.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials arrived, our students were excited to have resources that made their hard work look as professional as they felt it deserved to be. The foam boards also helped ensure that every student had access to the same quality of materials, regardless of what they might otherwise have been able to provide themselves. With the support of Horace Mann, our students can continue developing the communication, organization, creativity, and presentation skills that DECA is designed to build. It was actually funny because they were delivered during the school day and to my classroom, so as the boxes arrived, the students were the ones who opened them. They practiced with them leading up to the competition so that they knew exactly how to set them up skillfully, giving them a flawless appearance as they met with their judges.
