My students and I were so excited to receive the items from your donation, and we utilize the items every single day. My class was overjoyed when the first boxes of the donation started to arrive. As I began to unpack each item, they were eager to implement and use them right away. We are incredibly grateful for your generosity and the care you've shown to us through this donation.\r\n\r\nMy class uses the flexible seating options regularly, and I'm so grateful that they are high-quality and will last through this year and beyond. It's important for my students' learning preferences to be met, and you've enabled that. We use the mobile whiteboards frequently too, especially when students are collaborating on boards during math time. They also allow me to have more anchor charts up and posted around the room.\r\n\r\nThe additional lighting options help keep our classroom calm and low-stimulation. I never turn on the \"big light\" in my room, and these lamps allow for gentle lighting that keeps the environment relaxed while still providing ample light for learning and success. \r\n\r\nYour donation supplied so many more items for our classroom, as well, and I can't express how thankful my students and I are for everything. Every wheel thrown piece represents possibility, creativity, and the power of your belief in these young artists.\r\n\r\nThank you for making this incredible learning experience possible. These pottery wheels have introduced an entirely new medium for creativity and self-expression, profoundly enriching the artistic journey of every child who participates.\r\n\r\nBefore we received the pottery wheels, our students' experiences with ceramics were limited to hand-building techniques such as pinch pots and slab creations. While these projects were rewarding, they lacked the dynamic and hands-on engagement that pottery wheels provide. The introduction of the wheels has not only expanded the scope of our curriculum but also provided our students with the opportunity to develop fine motor skills, patience, and a sense of accomplishment as they transform a simple lump of clay into beautiful, functional art.\r\n\r\nThe impact of these wheels extends far beyond the technical skills learned. Many of our students have expressed how working on the pottery wheel has become a calming and therapeutic activity for them. For children who may struggle with focus or anxiety, the rhythmic spinning of the wheel and the tactile sensation of molding clay has offered a unique form of mindfulness. Students have learned to embrace mistakes as part of the creative process, turning challenges into opportunities to innovate and grow.\r\n\r\nMoreover, these wheels have fostered a sense of pride and community within our school. Students are excited to share their creations with their families, and the tangible results of their efforts—bowls, cups, and decorative pieces—serve as lasting reminders of their hard work and creativity. Seeing their pieces displayed in the school or brought home as gifts has given students a confidence boost and a stronger sense of connection to their artistic potential.\r\n\r\nThe pottery wheels have also inspired collaboration and mentorship among students. Older students often guide younger ones in learning wheel techniques, fostering peer-to-peer learning and a supportive environment in the art room. The joy of creating art has become a shared experience, bringing students together in ways that go beyond the classroom.\r\n\r\nThanks to the donors who supported this project, our elementary art program has transformed into a hub of creativity, innovation, and emotional growth. These pottery wheels have not only enhanced our curriculum but also ignited a lifelong love of art in our students. We are deeply grateful for the impact this fundraiser has had, and we are excited to see how these experiences will shape the artistic and personal journeys of our students for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1693529689023,"projectUrl":"project/elementary-pottery-wheel-experience/7749349/","projectTitle":"Elementary Pottery Wheel Experience","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Montgomery","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9233706_orig.png?crop=1813,1813,x63,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1693275108284","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9233706"},{"teacherId":9160107,"projectId":7783848,"letterContent":"Flexible seating has revolutionized the way my students approach learning each day. By offering a variety of seating options, I've seen students become more engaged, focused, and comfortable in the classroom. Some students thrive when they can move to a wobble stool or a standing desk, while others find focus in a cozy corner with floor cushions.\r\n\r\nThis setup has empowered my students to make choices that best support their learning needs, fostering independence and self-awareness. I've also noticed increased collaboration, as the seating arrangement encourages students to work together in small groups or pairs in a way that feels natural and dynamic.\r\n\r\nFor students who struggle with traditional seating, this change has been especially impactful. They are more able to regulate their energy and maintain concentration, which has translated to greater academic success and confidence. Flexible seating has turned my classroom into a space where every student feels welcome, supported, and ready to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1693605294560,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-seating-for-flexible-learning/7783848/","projectTitle":"Flexible Seating for Flexible Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lehnerz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9160107_orig.jpg?crop=750,750,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1691471095763","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/lehnerz"},{"teacherId":6049344,"projectId":8576153,"letterContent":"When the boxes arrived in our classroom, the kids were excited and curious. I explained that some people had given our class some special presents that we would all be able to use. Throughout the week, I introduced the different activities and slowly added them to work station time or put out for kids to use as needed. \r\n We have used the picture story dry erase boards many times. It is so nice to be able to have enough for everyone to use at the same time. We practice writing sentences and my students enjoy drawing matching pictures. It is a great way to practice without using a lot of paper! \r\n We also use the whisper phones often. They are such a wonderful tool to help students practice reading without distracting those around them. \r\n Thank you so much for your generous donations that will benefit many through the years. My next project will probably center around building a classroom library of decodable texts that students can check out to practice reading at home with their families.","fullyFundedDate":1727462728278,"projectUrl":"project/literacy-learning-tools-for-kindergarten/8576153/","projectTitle":"Literacy Learning Tools for Kindergarten","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Langreck","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp6049344_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1541742474580","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6049344"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_59206","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":406,"numTeachers":30,"percentFrplEligible":45,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":67,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":23,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"13.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":78.0,"schoolId":59206,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Kruse Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Kruse Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/colorado/poudre-school-district/kruse-elementary-school/59206"}
