I utilize a bunch of YouTube play along videos with them to popular tunes and they have so much fun with it! We have never had bucket drums here at our school so these are new instruments to them and thanks to you we were able to give them this awesome new experience. It has truly been such a blessing. \r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the instruments, they were so shocked and surprised. I had told them in the last week of school last year that the project had been fully funded. I think seeing the new instruments in person though added a \"WOW\" factor for sure. These kids have never had the opportunity to play something like this. They were so thankful and are so excited that we have enough for each student to have their own bucket drum. \r\n\r\nI'm going to try and incorporate the drums as often as I can into any lesson that deals with playing rhythms or learning a new rhythm. I want the students to be able to utilize them as often as possible. I am even thinking of stepping out of the usual and asking my admin team about possibly holding a bucket drum concert for the school. I think the whole school would really enjoy something like this. Thank you does not seem like enough. The impact you have made on our students is huge and these instruments are durable and will last a long time. Thank you so much for your giving and generous hearts.","fullyFundedDate":1779369078747,"projectUrl":"project/the-bucket-drumming-experience/10266604/","projectTitle":"The Bucket Drumming Experience","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Godwin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10484875_orig.jpg?crop=1907,1908,x0,y178&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1778590184618","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10484875"},{"teacherId":10484875,"projectId":10216784,"letterContent":"Our students here at Krause Elementary are really enjoying the new boomwhackers and handbells that we were able to receive thanks to your generous donations. We use instruments almost every day and they have so much fun getting to use them. We use them to encourage and teach reading music and learning to play specific rhythms as well. We do not have a specific project use for them, but I am trying to see how I can also implement these instruments into our grade level music programs.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw our new instruments their faces were ones of sweet surprise. Their eyes lit up and some responded with statements like: \"Oh my goodness! We got all of those?!\" I said yes, thanks to the kind donors who helped fund our project, we now have enough instruments for the whole class to get to play them together at one time. We do not have to share instruments anymore or wait our turn. They were so happy and so very thankful.\r\n\r\nWe are working on different things with each grade level. Some are learning about beat so playing the instruments helps teach them how to play with the steady beat. Some classes are learning about meter or a new rhythm, so I've been picking songs to play to implement those new meters or rhythms to them on instruments. In the future we will be learning about tempo and dynamics and these instruments will be such a great way of not only teaching them about the concepts but allowing them to actually implement it or synthesize the knowledge by playing the beautiful new instruments we got because of your generosity.
