Receiving new hands-on materials has made such a meaningful difference in our developmental preschool classroom. Play-Doh, Magna-Tiles, fine-motor manipulatives, and colorful sorting activities give our students engaging ways to learn through play while practicing important developmental skills.\r\n\r\nPlay-Doh strengthens hand and finger muscles needed for future writing and self-care skills, while also encouraging creativity, sensory exploration, and imaginative play. Magna-Tiles and other building materials provide opportunities to develop fine-motor coordination, spatial awareness, problem-solving, and visual-motor skills as students build, connect, and create. As you can see in the picture, many of these materials are also great at fostering \"working together\" and social problem-solving!\r\n\r\nOur colorful sorting and matching activities help students practice early math concepts, colors, shapes, categorization, attention, and following directions in ways that feel fun and purposeful. These materials also naturally encourage students to communicate, take turns, make choices, and engage with their peers.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, these materials allow us to meet students where they are developmentally. Activities can be adapted to provide the right level of challenge and support for each child, giving every student opportunities to experience success.\r\n\r\nWe have seen our students become more engaged, curious, independent, and excited to explore.
