We are using the new reading games during small group instruction and literacy centers to reinforce phonics skills, comprehension strategies, and vocabulary practice. One of my favorite moments was watching a group of students play a partner reading game where they had to read passages and answer questions to move forward on the board. They were cheering each other on, rereading tricky parts, and genuinely excited about practicing skills that once felt challenging. The whisper phones have become a powerful tool during independent reading time. Students use them to quietly hear themselves read, which has boosted fluency and confidence—especially for some of my more hesitant readers. The classroom timers have helped us stay focused during rotations and writing practice, and the comma materials have made grammar lessons interactive and hands-on instead of just worksheet-based.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, their eyes lit up. The reading games immediately sparked curiosity—\"When do we get to play?\" quickly became the most-asked question of the day! The whisper phones were an instant hit; students couldn't believe they could hear their own voices so clearly while reading. What meant the most to me was seeing students who sometimes struggle with focus or confidence eagerly volunteer to try the new tools. It gave them a sense of ownership over their learning.\r\n\r\nNext, we are building on this momentum by incorporating the reading games into a larger literacy challenge where students track growth in fluency and comprehension. We are also diving deeper into writing, using the comma resources to strengthen sentence structure and clarity in personal narratives. With the help of the timers, students are working toward increasing their stamina during independent reading and writing blocks. Your support has not only provided materials—it has created excitement, structure, and confidence that will carry into every lesson ahead. Thank you for giving my students tools that make learning active, meaningful, and fun.","fullyFundedDate":1769459152005,"projectUrl":"project/readers-on-the-rise/9943228/","projectTitle":"Readers on the Rise","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kelly","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3875728_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y231&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1764792673830","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3875728"},{"teacherId":3875728,"projectId":9868033,"letterContent":"We are using the new resources every single day, and they've already become part of our classroom routine. The donations included everyday essentials for our classroom like markers, crayons, pencils, play dough, stickers, books, and paper, which has allowed students to fully participate in lessons without worrying about supplies. One special moment was during a literacy center activity when students used the new markers and paper to create story maps, then used play dough to build characters from their stories. The freedom to create and explore has made learning more hands-on and meaningful.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their faces lit up with excitement and curiosity. They eagerly explored the new crayons and markers, flipping through the books and asking when they could start using everything. Many students immediately shared ideas for what they wanted to draw, write, or build, and it created a buzz of positive energy in the room. The supplies made them feel valued and excited to learn, and that enthusiasm carried into our lessons.\r\n\r\nNext, students will continue using these materials as we move deeper into our reading and writing units. They will use the paper, pencils, and markers to draft and illustrate their own stories, while books will support guided reading and independent exploration. Play dough and stickers will be used in small-group activities to reinforce fine motor skills and letter recognition. These resources are helping us build strong foundations for creativity, confidence, and academic growth, and your generosity is shaping our classroom experiences every day.","fullyFundedDate":1763588520310,"projectUrl":"project/books-basics-building-brighter-future/9868033/","projectTitle":"Books & Basics: Building Brighter Futures","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kelly","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3875728_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y231&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1764792673830","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3875728"},{"teacherId":7772794,"projectId":6072855,"letterContent":"Thank you for making an essential contribution to our classroom!
