The ramps and conveyor belt have turned our block center into an engineering hub where students experiment with how objects move, testing different heights and angles. They cheer each other on as they predict which ball or block will travel faster, and the crane has inspired cooperative play as they take turns lifting and moving pieces together. These hands-on tools are helping my students think like problem-solvers and engineers while building social skills through teamwork.\r\n\r\nThe lacing letters and stamps have been a big hit in our literacy centers. Students love threading the lacing letters to spell their names and sight words, which builds both fine motor skills and early reading confidence. The stamps have made writing practice exciting, as students proudly stamp out words before trying to write them on their own. Meanwhile, the water blocks have added a whole new level of creativity to building students light up as they watch the colors shift when stacked, often turning their creations into \"rainbow towers\" or \"aquariums.\"\r\n\r\nMoving forward, my students will continue to use these materials to connect literacy, science, and problem-solving skills through hands-on exploration. Whether it's designing a ramp to test speed, spelling with lacing letters, or using the crane to construct something new, they are learning that they can build, create, and explore in so many ways. These resources are not only enriching their classroom projects but also inspiring curiosity and confidence each day. Our rug is colorful and has a designated spot for each peer in our class. The rug has quickly become a central part of our classroom, providing a comfortable space for group discussions, storytime, and collaborative activities. For example, during a recent reading lesson, we gathered on the rug for a circle time discussion where students could sit comfortably while sharing their thoughts on the story. They also love using the rug during our math sessions for hands-on activities, where they work together to solve problems on the floor.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the rug, their reactions were filled with excitement! They immediately ran over to explore the bright colors and soft texture. It has made our space feel more inviting and has helped them feel more relaxed and engaged in the activities we do together.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, my students will continue to use the rug as a space for collaborative learning and interactive lessons. In our upcoming science project, they'll work in small groups on the rug to observe and record findings from hands-on experiments. This space fosters teamwork and allows them to comfortably discuss their observations and ideas. It's exciting to see how the rug is becoming an essential tool in our learning journey, and I'm confident it will continue to support their growth and development.","fullyFundedDate":1734229987170,"projectUrl":"project/new-rug-for-the-violets/8809585/","projectTitle":"New Rug for the Violets!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Noyola","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8433189"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_30793","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":918,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":8,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":89,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":64.9,"schoolId":30793,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about KIPP Dream Preparatory on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"KIPP Dream Preparatory","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/texas-department-of-education/kipp-dream-prep/30793"}
