Because of your kindness, our students have access to resources that will help them explore Black history, celebrate their identities, and discover the incredible legacy of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). The Teachers Pay Teachers gift card is helping us bring engaging, culturally relevant lessons and activities into our club, while our new shirts will give students a sense of unity, belonging, and pride as members of Black Youth Leading with Knowledge (BLK).\r\n\r\nWe recently kicked off our club, and it has been exciting to see students begin building relationships, sharing their ideas, and learning what it means to be young leaders. Our goal is to create a space where students feel empowered to ask questions, celebrate their heritage, and recognize the contributions of Black leaders throughout history. As students continue participating, their shirts will serve as a reminder that they are part of something meaningful and that their voices, stories, and futures matter.\r\n\r\nOver the coming months, students will explore the history and impact of HBCUs, learn about influential Black changemakers, and participate in activities that connect the past to their own dreams for the future. We are especially excited about our upcoming Gallery of Heroes, where students will research and bring historical figures to life for our school community. Having the proper equipment and nutritious snacks made them feel supported and valued, which boosted team morale and engagement throughout the season.
