A lot of our families use technology at home, but they don't always get to see how powerful it can be when kids use it to problem-solve, build, and create. With these tools, students are learning the basics of coding without even realizing it. They're building logic, working together, and getting to see their ideas come to life right in front of them.\r\n\r\nThe thing my students love most is how fun everything feels. They get so excited watching their Botley robot follow a path they coded or seeing Dash react to their commands. The Osmo kits are another huge hit! Students loved mixing the hands-on puzzle pieces with the digital coding challenges. It makes them feel like real engineers. Every time they make something move, turn, or light up because of a choice they made, you can just see the confidence grow.\r\n\r\nSome students have taken to the new technology in really special ways. One of my quieter second graders - who usually doesn't raise his hand - has become the \"go-to\" helper whenever someone's Osmo coding gets stuck. One of my kinders, who normally has a tough time staying engaged, proudly figured out how to make his Coding Critter go through a tiny obstacle course! Now, he asks to show every new visitor how it works. It's been so sweet to watch these tools open doors for kids who needed a different way to shine.","fullyFundedDate":1755881992438,"projectUrl":"project/coding-in-the-jungle-building-tech-skil/9628267/","projectTitle":"Coding in the Jungle: Building Tech Skills Early","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Nebeker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9529574_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1750195598098","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/wild-library"},{"teacherId":9593856,"projectId":9434133,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for donating to my room, although I wasn't able to receive most of the things I put on my list, I replaced them with more books for my library!\r\nMy students are loving the new books I have added to my library and are always excited to check them out!\r\nThe speaker that was on my wish list is used to make 4th grade more joyful! The resources funded through this project have allowed us to equip our young math wizards with the tools they need to succeed, not just on paper, but in their confidence, collaboration, and critical thinking. From dry-erase boards and manipulatives to visual aids and organizational tools, every item has played a role in transforming how our students engage with math.\r\nBefore this project, many of our students struggled to see themselves as capable mathematicians. In a Title I school where resources are limited and learning gaps are common, it's easy for students to feel discouraged. But now, with access to hands-on materials and targeted supports, they're approaching math with a new mindset. They're solving problems with enthusiasm, working together to find solutions, and celebrating their progress. The classroom feels different—more focused, more joyful, and more inclusive. Students who once hesitated to participate are now raising their hands, explaining their thinking, and helping their peers. These tools have not only supported academic growth but have also helped build a community of learners who believe in themselves and each other.\r\nYour donation has made a lasting impact that goes far beyond test scores. It has helped create a learning environment where students feel seen, supported, and inspired. The materials you provided are used daily, and their presence has made math instruction more engaging, more differentiated, and more effective. Whether it's through engaging math games, quick problem-solving challenges, or small-group instruction, these resources are helping students strengthen foundational skills and prepare for the STAAR test with purpose and enthusiasm.\r\nIn our Title I school, many students face academic gaps and limited access to enrichment opportunities outside the classroom. Your donation has helped bridge that gap by providing tools that make math accessible, fun, and effective. Students who once felt overwhelmed by math are now participating with confidence, asking questions, and celebrating small victories. The 10-minute format has proven to be a powerful strategy—short enough to maintain focus, but impactful enough to reinforce key concepts and build momentum. The materials funded through this project—multiplication tools and essential classroom supplies—have made a significant difference in how students approach math and how we build a productive learning environment each day. In a Title I school where resources are often stretched thin, your donation has helped fill critical gaps and allowed us to focus on what matters most: student growth and success.\r\nThe multiplication tools have been especially impactful. Many of our students struggle with foundational math skills, and having access to hands-on resources like flash cards, number lines, and visual aids has helped make abstract concepts more concrete. Students are now practicing multiplication with confidence, using tools that support different learning styles and allow for repetition without frustration. These resources have also made small-group instruction more effective, enabling me to differentiate lessons and provide targeted support to students who need it most. The improvement in engagement and understanding has been noticeable—students are more willing to participate, take risks, and celebrate their progress.\r\nBeyond math, the classroom essentials you helped provide—such as anchor chart paper, markers, organizational bins, and bulletin board materials—have created a more structured and inspiring learning environment. These supplies may seem simple, but they play a vital role in helping students stay focused, feel supported, and take pride in their classroom. With your help, we've been able to create anchor charts that reinforce key concepts, organize materials for easy access, and decorate our space in ways that reflect student work and celebrate learning. These changes have boosted morale and made our classroom feel like a place where students are valued and motivated to succeed.\r\nYour support has made a lasting impact not only on our academic instruction but also on the emotional and social well-being of our students.
