I teach in a rural school, where funding is generally quite limited to purchase anything beyond the basic necessities. My students and I have greatly enjoyed the various resources that I was able to purchase through this project. \r\n\r\nWe now have a variety of math and early literacy games that my students find fun and engaging. We use these quite regularly as \"early finisher\" activities, and sometimes we reserve a small chunk of our day and just play board games. I think this has made learning much more fun and playful for my kiddos. \r\n\r\nI also purchased what some would call basics, such as individual white boards. These get used daily for handwriting practice and math fact practice. My students also really enjoy the rekenreks, which have helped them build competency in math with a hands-on approach. \r\n\r\nAll of these new additions to my classroom have been used regularly since the day the arrived, and my students have benefited greatly from your contibution. I used the donation to purchase books for our Battle of the Books. This is a friendly competition between teams of 3rd-6th graders. The teams are exposed to a variety of genres by having to read 10-12 books as a team.
