It was a surprise for the kids as I hadn't told them anything about the Donor's Choose project or that I was trying to get a new table at all. The day the table was ready to be used, I told each group before getting to my room that I thought an elf had left us a surprise. They were so excited and wanted to know how an elf snuck it in. Each group had different theories about why the table was really there. I even had a student weeks after Christmas ask when the elf was going to come back to get the table and bring it to the North Pole. \r\n The table is used daily by seven different small groups graded Kindergarten through 2nd Grade. Twenty students total use the table daily to learn new phonics skills, and to practice reading and writing. It also doubles as my workspace when the kids are not in the room as I do not have room in my small space for my own desk. We have been able to add visual b/d removable stickers to the table as well as a cup for each student to hold their \"King's Cash\" earned throughout lessons. \r\n We will continue to enjoy our new table and the space it has opened up for us to move more freely in our small reading room.
