We have several of our classrooms sharing the materials because they are that popular! The students are correctly completing the \"Fact or Fiction\" unit that is based on the anchor text of the \"Wizard of Oz\". \r\n\r\n Throughout the story and unit, students are learning how to engage in collaborative discussions, find the main idea and details, identify illustrations, learn new vocabulary and integrate their knowledge, skills and experiences with the text. The materials provided by Donors Choose supports their background knowledge of the concepts and provides hands on/kinesthetic learning. Our \"Fact or Fiction (Wizard of Oz)\" unit focuses on friendship, body parts and their functions (specifically, the brain, eyes, and heart) and tornadoes. \r\n\r\n Our students were able to create their own tornadoes with the \"My Pet Tornado\" purchased and learn more about them with the supplemental books. They also were able to learn more about eyes and body parts through additional books and had a lot of fun discovering the human body through the Learning Resources Skill Builders Human Body Activity Set! Thank you again for your support to bring hands on materials and more books to our classrooms.
