Because of your generosity, our classroom received much-needed cleaning and sanitation supplies as well as computer mice for student use. These resources are already helping us create a classroom that is cleaner, safer, more organized, and better equipped for learning.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials arrived, students were excited to see the new supplies and especially happy to have computer mice available to use with their devices. Having these resources may seem simple, but they make a meaningful difference in our daily classroom routine. Students can more easily navigate online assignments, complete research, and participate in technology-based activities. Our cleaning and sanitation supplies also allow us to keep student work areas and frequently used classroom spaces clean throughout the school day.\r\n\r\nOne of the ways students are using the computer mice is during our history research and digital learning activities. Students regularly use their computers to explore historical topics, examine sources, complete assignments, and demonstrate what they have learned. Having a mouse makes these activities easier and more accessible, especially when students are navigating websites, documents, and interactive resources.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue incorporating technology into our history lessons through research, primary-source analysis, interactive activities, and student projects. At the same time, our sanitation supplies will help us maintain a clean and welcoming environment where students can focus on learning.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving our donors a glimpse into our classroom and, most importantly, for showing our students that there are people who care about education and want to see them succeed. Students are rotating through stations that focus on close reading, vocabulary development, writing responses, and collaborative discussion. One of the most powerful moments came when I watched a group of students fully engaged in a text, debating character motivations and supporting their ideas with evidence. That level of ownership and confidence in their learning is exactly what these resources were meant to create.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement was immediate. Students were eager to explore everything, asking questions and jumping into the activities without hesitation. What stood out most was how quickly they shifted from passive learners to active participants. Instead of waiting for instruction, they began leading discussions, helping one another, and taking pride in their work.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, these resources will continue to support deeper learning as we build toward more complex reading and writing tasks. Students will use these stations to prepare for upcoming assessments, strengthen critical thinking skills, and develop independence in their learning. This project is not just a one-time experience. Because of your generosity, our classroom will be filled with exciting, hands-on STEM and art materials ready for students to explore when the new school term begins in August. From DNA extraction kits and chemical reaction investigations to robotics, circuits, and creative art supplies, these resources will allow students to dive into meaningful, interactive learning experiences that spark both curiosity and imagination.\r\n\r\nAlthough we haven't yet introduced the materials to students, I am already planning engaging lessons that will make the most of each item. Students will investigate science concepts by extracting DNA from strawberries, exploring chemical reactions, and even creating erupting volcanoes. At the same time, they will build and code with robotics kits, design origami circuits, and express their creativity through painting and collaborative projects. I can already imagine the excitement and wonder on their faces as they encounter these materials for the first time and realize that learning can be both fun and hands-on.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, these resources will support ongoing projects that encourage problem-solving, creativity, and teamwork. Students will not only explore new concepts but also apply their learning in deeper, more meaningful ways through projects and presentations. Your generosity has made a meaningful difference in the way our students experience school. Because of your support, our classroom has become more engaging, organized, and welcoming. The new game show buzzers have quickly turned into a student favorite. What used to be a simple question-and-answer session is now a high-energy, collaborative experience. Students who are typically quiet or hesitant to raise their hands are now among the first to participate. I have watched shy students light up with confidence as they press the buzzer and proudly share their thinking with the class. It has truly shifted the level of engagement and enthusiasm in our room.\r\n\r\nThe bulk candy mix has added a fun and positive layer of motivation. We use it thoughtfully to celebrate teamwork, improvement, kindness, and perseverance—not just correct answers. Students cheer each other on, knowing that effort and collaboration matter just as much as getting something right the first time. The small rewards have helped reinforce a growth mindset and have encouraged students to take academic risks without fear.","fullyFundedDate":1768754776608,"projectUrl":"project/supplies-that-spark-learning-care/10017764/","projectTitle":"Supplies That Spark Learning & Care","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Martin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8128960_orig.jpg?crop=1869,1869,x88,y323&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1717547614289","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8128960"},{"teacherId":8128960,"projectId":9785502,"letterContent":"Thank you for your incredible generosity, which brought our \"Caring for Creatures: Growing Compassion Through Bird Care\" project to life, transforming our classroom into a buzzing hub of learning, observation, and genuine empathy as students build, fill, and watch our new bird feeders.\r\nWith the new bird feeders, seed, and crafting supplies you provided, we're actively creating a living laboratory right outside our window, observing diverse bird species, learning their behaviors, and understanding their needs, fostering a hands-on connection to nature. Students eagerly fill feeders, track visitors, and use the materials for exciting birdhouse decorating projects, making learning tangible and exciting. \r\nOur next adventure involves integrating art and writing; students are designing bird-themed journals to document their observations, sketch the birds they see, and write stories from a bird's perspective, further cementing their understanding of local ecology and cultivating sustained compassion for all living things. The new resources have transformed our daily routines and learning environment. My students are now able to find materials quickly, work together in groups more effectively, and take greater ownership of their learning spaces. It's amazing how something as simple as better organization can open the door to deeper focus and creativity.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments was watching the students unpack the new materials for the first time—their excitement was contagious! They immediately began brainstorming how to use the supplies in their current projects. For example, during our recent \"STEM Design Challenge,\" teams used the new bins and tools to set up workstations, assign roles, and manage their time efficiently. It was wonderful to see collaboration and problem-solving come so naturally once the clutter was gone.\r\n\r\nNow that our classroom is running smoothly, my students are diving into new learning opportunities with confidence. We're starting a research and presentation unit where students will use their organized materials to plan, draft, and present projects about topics they're passionate about.
