Students are asking questions while they read, gasping at dramatic moments, and looking at us with wide eyes when a chapter ends on a cliffhanger. \r\n\r\nAs we read, we are discussing big questions like \"How much power should we have over other people?\" and \"How does a society's obsession with entertainment impact its values?\". We are learning writing skills like how to write analytical paragraphs about what we read. And, since each student has their own copy of the book to take home, we are having invaluable discussions about how to read independently and establish good homework habits.
