At the end of our school day we wind down and have some carpet time. Aside from learning carpet time expectations we are learning to choose a book to read. I read the book for them and ask them \"wh\" questions about the pictures. Teaching \"wh\" questions in kindergarten is crucial because it lays the foundation for children to actively participate in conversations, gather information, understand the world around them, and develop essential communication skills by learning to ask and answer questions about \"who,\" \"what,\" \"where,\" \"when,\" and \"why\" - all vital for daily interactions and learning in the classroom. It is a way to decompress after a long day of work/play. The students get to use their imagination on what I am reading.
