The Kleenex boxes are used daily by students. As Alaskan weather gets colder, the number of colds increases too; having tissues readily available means students can quietly take care of sniffles and stay comfortable and focused without interrupting learning. The Clorox wipes have become part of our routine for sanitizing shared materials like markers, scissors, and work areas between groups. One moment that stands out: after a lively poster‑making session, students eagerly grabbed wipes to clean their work areas and tools so the next group could begin right away — their pride in keeping our classroom ready for learning was wonderful to see.\r\nWhen the delivery arrived, the students cheered and immediately asked how we would use everything — their excitement quickly turned into responsibility. They've learned about community care: how small actions (like wiping down a table) help protect classmates and keep our classroom running smoothly. Next, we'll continue integrating these routines into project work and center rotations so students practice classroom citizenship each day. Because your donation helped maintain a clean, comfortable environment, we can stay focused on instruction and safely carry out hands‑on activities throughout the year. Thank you again for supporting our learning community — your gift truly matters.","fullyFundedDate":1763053784636,"projectUrl":"project/healthy-and-happy-hands-ready-to-learn/9791013/","projectTitle":"Healthy and Happy Hands = Ready to Learn!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. April","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10300682_orig.jpg?crop=3203,3202,x0,y363&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1761166507341","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10300682"},{"teacherId":9844737,"projectId":9203919,"letterContent":"I'm writing to express our sincere appreciation for the recent contributions made to our classroom and to share the positive outcomes that resulted from them.\r\n\r\nThe resources provided—specifically the audio equipment and flexible seating—have had a significant impact on student productivity and focus. With the ability to clearly hear and replay instructions, students have been better equipped to understand lessons at their own pace. This has directly contributed to increased academic performance, as reflected in improved assessment scores across multiple subjects.\r\n\r\nStudents were so excited to recieve the headphones and not have to ask to borrow from a friend. I made these open and available to them so that if they needed headphones, they could just go get them without asking.\r\n\r\nIn addition, the introduction of flexible seating has supported a more engaging and respectful classroom environment. Seating assignments were rotated weekly based on a combination of behavior and random selection, which motivated students to stay on task and demonstrate positive conduct. This approach fostered accountability and created a sense of fairness and structure, further enhancing the overall learning atmosphere.\r\n\r\nWe are truly grateful for the support, and we're already seeing how these changes are giving students a better chance to succeed.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your continued investment in our students' education.","fullyFundedDate":1742934150301,"projectUrl":"project/improved-concentration-with-flexible-sea/9203919/","projectTitle":"Improved Concentration With Flexible Seating and Headphones for All!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Danica Phillips","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9844737_orig.jpg?crop=1123,1123,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1732208473399","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9844737"},{"teacherId":9887761,"projectId":9032013,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generosity and for supporting our classroom! Because of you, we were able to add so many exciting games and hands-on toys like Cornhole, Ring Toss, Bop It, Operation, a mini basketball game, wooden building toys, connector pieces and more that have completely transformed our end-of-day routines.\r\n\r\nMy students have loved getting to use these new materials. They talk about the games all day long and are more motivated than ever to work hard and follow expectations so they can earn free time at the end of the day. It has become something they truly look forward to. Watching them build, take turns, cheer each other on, and just enjoy being kids is one of the best parts of our day.\r\n\r\nBeyond just being fun, these games have helped teach so many important skills, like teamwork, sportsmanship, and self-regulation. They're learning how to play fair, wait their turn, and problem-solve together without adult direction. Even students who usually struggle with social interactions are engaging more confidently because these activities give them a structured, safe way to connect with peers.\r\n\r\nThe hands-on toys, like the building blocks and connectors, have sparked so much creativity. I've seen students who are typically hesitant to try new things become leaders in designing and building elaborate creations, and they're so proud of themselves. These moments matter, and they wouldn't be happening without your support.\r\n\r\nYour donation didn't just fund a few toys. It gave my students something to look forward to, something to work toward, and something that brings them joy. That's powerful. Thank you so much for believing in our classroom and helping make school a little brighter for some really amazing kids.","fullyFundedDate":1737826854593,"projectUrl":"project/help-special-education-k-5-with-a-behavi/9032013/","projectTitle":"Help Special Education K-5 with a Behavior Focus","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. House","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9887761_orig.jpg?crop=1552,1552,x725,y1290&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1736199207467","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9887761"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_63834","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":440,"numTeachers":29,"percentFrplEligible":68,"percentAsian":14,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":25,"percentIndigenous":15,"percentLatinx":9,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"15.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":55.4,"schoolId":63834,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Kasuun Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Kasuun Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/alaska/anchorage-school-district/kasuun-elementary-school/63834"}
