My hope was that it would help my struggling spellers and writers become more independent, free writers. At first, we faced some challenges. Sometimes, it would capture \"party me\" instead of \"pardon me.\" So, my students definitely had to learn how to speak more clearly so that the tool would capture the words correctly. I also encountered problems getting my transcribers connected to the school wi-fi due to firewalls blocking access to the AI features on the transcribers. \r\n\r\nNevertheless, we use its transcribing feature on a small scale, not connected to the wi-fi and use it as best we can. \r\n\r\nWe will continue to explore ways to apply the transcribers in the easiest and seamless ways possible.\r\n\r\nThank you again for donating this to my classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1742160764123,"projectUrl":"project/transcribing-with-tenacity/9174085/","projectTitle":"Transcribing With Tenacity","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Emerson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3327908_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1501672765422","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3327908"},{"teacherId":7929655,"projectId":9778158,"letterContent":"The Books in Every Hand, Dreams in Every Heart project transformed literacy learning by placing full sets of a variety of class books directly into the hands of every child. Your support has profoundly impacted my 3rd-grade students at Kahuku Elementary in Kahuku, Hawaii, by enabling us to create a vibrant and enriching learning environment.\r\n\r\nThis project has been a transformative experience. Most of my students had limited or no prior exposure to gardening. Initially, they struggled to connect with the lessons. While our 2nd-grade \"Aina in the Schools\" program introduced them to food and nutrition, it didn't extend to hands-on gardening. Some students were hesitant about composting and germinating seeds, while others viewed gardening as simply \"too dirty and messy.\"\r\n\r\nYour support has allowed us to create a dynamic, hands-on learning experience that has shifted these perspectives. My students are now actively involved in every stage of gardening, having taken ownership of:\r\n\r\n*Planning and constructing raised garden beds.\r\n*Learning the science of aerobic composting.\r\n*Experiencing the wonder of seed germination and plant growth.\r\n*Conducting a comparative study of soil versus hydroponic plant growth.\r\n\r\nThese activities have fostered collaboration, problem-solving, and a deep understanding of sustainable practices. More importantly, the students are developing valuable life skills and a newfound appreciation for the environment.\r\nWe are currently planting the remaining vegetables and eagerly anticipate harvesting the results of their hard work. We are also planning to incorporate this garden into next year's curriculum, ensuring that your generosity provides a lasting educational resource.\r\n\r\nYour belief in our students and our school is deeply appreciated. Thank you for helping us cultivate a love for learning, a sense of responsibility, and a connection to the land in our students.\r\n\r\nSincerely,\r\n\r\nWalter M. My students often choose the Calming Corner/Reading Nook as a space to decompress and/or read to themselves.\r\n\r\n I envisioned this space to be a safe and comfortable space for my students and the rugs helped me achieve just that. \r\n\r\nThank you again for these amazing rugs.","fullyFundedDate":1729398628496,"projectUrl":"project/soft-spaces-safe-spaces/8888332/","projectTitle":"Soft Spaces, Safe Spaces","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Emerson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3327908_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1501672765422","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3327908"},{"teacherId":9812614,"projectId":8897014,"letterContent":"Thank you do much for the needed STEM materials as well as the fun rewards for my prize bin. Each student has been able to benefit from the amazing things given in many ways.\r\n \r\nWe were able to have all students make their own solar powered or battery powered vehicle. They used the instruction to build them and could talk to a partner to problem solve how to put it together based on the pictures. It was the perfect level for 5th Graders! When finished they could decorate it and then we started the races. All students tested and tweaked their vehicles before the race. It was so fun! The students who won were immediately bombarded with questions and students watched inquisitively to see what they did differently so they could make their vehicle faster too. The absolute best part was that each of them got to take a vehicle home. They are used to nicely taking it apart and repackaging so I can use it my science kits another year. I received thank you letters from parents when they saw the amazing things we were able to do in class.\r\n\r\nThe fun prizes that were purchased have been put to good use. My students work very hard and need brain breaks often. I want them to really rest their brain and work their body during these breaks. My students are now laughing and playing 10x more since they know their are fun prizes waiting for them. We play games everyday and I know it helps them to push themselves more academically when they are able to have fun and rest their brain a bit.\r\n\r\nI have not yet used the hydroponics set since I am waiting for a longer span of time with less holiday breaks. My students see the equipment and cannot wait to use it. Many are already telling me what they think we are doing and some have even had experience with it before. I love hearing all of the prior knowledge they have. They would not be sharing this with me if we did not have hands on activities to excite them in class.\r\n\r\nEach and every item that was purchased for my class has benefits that may impact the lives of my students for years to come. Sparking imagination and motivating students to work towards creating or earning something make them better learners. They are learning about themselves and what they need to grow. Their futures are brighter because of all those who donated and made these purchases possible.","fullyFundedDate":1729954960592,"projectUrl":"project/hands-on-with-mrs-a/8897014/","projectTitle":"Hands On With Mrs. A!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Apelu","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9812614"},{"teacherId":3327908,"projectId":8680118,"letterContent":"My students have really enjoyed reading the Time4Kids magazines in my classroom.
