Students are especially relieved to have sturdy and reliable ear protection, as many of my students have sensory processing differences. I have the ear defenders out and accessible so students are able to take them if they are overwhelmed with the many joyful noises that occur in our music classroom. \r\n\r\nThe students were also especially excited about the new fidget options provided. These fidgets are a valuable tool to help ground students struggling with big emotions, as well as students who need sensory input to focus on a task. My classes have been using the breathing cards daily as an opening activity and I have seen students use the same techniques, either in my calm corner with the physical cards or on their own by tracing the air. I love that this is a tool which helps them in and outside my classroom! \r\n\r\nYour donation has truly helped make my classroom a safer, happier, and more welcoming environment for my students with exceptionalities.
