Our students have waited patiently for the two new sets of HARRY POTTER books to arrive and be processed. Last week they were finally shelf-ready: I was able to put them on display for all to see; this week students have been able to check them out for the first time, and they have flown off the shelf. \r\n\r\nStudents in grades 3-6 have put in their book requests; some students have even put additional books on hold to read in the coming weeks. A few 2nd grade students have asked when they can read about the young wizard and his friends at Hogwarts School. These books have really cast a spell over the Julia Morgan Library.\r\n\r\nAs we enter the final month of school, I know the students will use their magical reading skills to finish their current selections so they can move on to the next book. I love to hear them chatting excitedly about the action in the book they are reading. They're so excited and animated. \r\n\r\nAgain, I say thank you for helping me to spread a little Harry Potter love.","fullyFundedDate":1769476027463,"projectUrl":"project/make-a-little-hp-magic-happen/10051508/","projectTitle":"Make a little HP magic happen","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Backus","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4477410_orig.jpg?crop=530,530,x0,y1&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1701997266758","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4477410"},{"teacherId":5262149,"projectId":10048046,"letterContent":"We are so grateful for your donations to our TK class. The students were so excited when we showed them all the new materials and games we received! The art material is used almost daily since we always have an art station up. The kids have LOVED putting stickers on their projects, using the pompoms to create beautiful masterpieces, and the coloring supplies for daily artwork! We could not be happier! \r\n\r\nThe board games have not only been fun, but they are teaching the children valuable lessons. The students are learning that it is okay to not win every single time, and we are focusing on positive behavior and peer relationships through games. The students are 4 and 5 years old so we do not sit at desks and teach like the upper grades do. We learn by playing! Every game that we received has been so helpful in our class. The students love it! We are able to also play the games like a family and enjoy the time together. \r\n\r\nThis year is coming to an end soon, but these supplies will be able to last us for years to come!
