When my students first saw it, their faces lit up. It's so colorful and inviting, and they immediately claimed their favorite spots on it. There was a buzz of excitement as they sat down and discussed where they wanted to sit for reading time or group discussions. The space is now much more comfortable and engaging, and it has created a welcoming atmosphere for both independent and collaborative learning.\r\n\r\nOne memorable moment was during a recent story activity. We were learning about the elements of a book, and instead of staying at their desks, students gathered on the rug to manipulate and discuss the different parts of a book. It felt much more interactive, and everyone was able to participate actively. The rug really helped create a sense of community, where students felt relaxed and open to sharing their ideas.\r\n\r\nNow, as we move forward with a new writing unit, the rug is going to continue playing an important role. We're working on discussing a class collection of short rhyming stories, and the rug provides the perfect space for active group work. It's an ideal setting for collaborative work, and students seem more eager to engage with each other in this cozy, inclusive space.\r\n\r\nWe'll be using the rug again to break into small groups, where students can participate in dramatic play, building puzzles, and even practicing yoga. It's exciting to see how the new rug has transformed the way students interact with one another and with the content.\r\n\r\nThank you to the donors for making this new space a reality!
