Everyone had a chance to play it along with some of the student preferred songs we were working on. It was great to see students who are normally timid about trying new things be amongst the first to play it. \r\n\r\nWith our completed rhythm section we started working on refining our songs for our up coming performances. The students felt like one of their songs was ready to perform, now. So we had our computer tech person come in and film the performance. Then he put it on one of our daily video announcements. My students received so many compliments from teachers and students, alike. It was a powerful moment for them. \r\n\r\nUsing student preferred music, having authentic instruments, and giving them the autonomy to make decisions about their performances has made such a difference with these students. Our next performance is in December and after the success of their previous performance, they are ready for another.","fullyFundedDate":1755713133866,"projectUrl":"project/authentic-experiences-through-student-pr/9600365/","projectTitle":"Authentic Experiences through Student-preferred Music","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Stacey Johnson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8653942_orig.jpg?crop=2486,2486,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1734633459243","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8653942"},{"teacherId":1652412,"projectId":9121748,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for helping bring a 3D printer into our classroom! This amazing tool has truly brought our students' creativity to life. What used to be just ideas in their heads—or drawings on paper—are now real objects they can hold in their hands.\r\n\r\nUsing Tinkercad, our students learned to design their own 3D models, from keychains and nameplates to custom game pieces, tools, and tiny inventions. They were so excited to see their digital designs slowly appear, layer by layer, on the printer bed. Every time the printer started buzzing, the entire class would gather around to see what was being made.\r\n\r\nOne student said, \"I never thought I could actually make something real like this!\" Another said, \"It's like my idea came out of my brain and turned into a toy.\"\r\n\r\nThis project helped them develop spatial thinking, persistence, and real-world design skills—and best of all, it sparked joy and pride in their learning.\r\n\r\nThank you again for helping turn imagination into reality in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1740438193537,"projectUrl":"project/dream-it-print-it/9121748/","projectTitle":"Dream It, Print It!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Valliere","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1652412_orig.jpg?crop=1100,1100,x1273,y271&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1740063261017","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/chris-valliere"},{"teacherId":8653942,"projectId":9003577,"letterContent":"We have been rocking out in 5th grade music on our new drum set and the whole school knows it! We now have students who are playing the drum set on their own. \r\n\r\nWe have played a variety of music with our drum set and the class has decided to play We Will Rock You at our concert this year.
