When the students first saw the variety of chocolate, candy canes, and Biscoff cookies, there was an immediate sense of excitement. Even though a winter storm delayed our \"retro\" stockings and oranges, the students were incredibly resilient. They were simply happy to see that people cared enough to send these items their way, and the festive snacks provided a significant boost to morale as we navigated the final days of the semester.\r\n\r\nTrue to the teaching profession, we pivoted our plans to ensure the students still had a memorable experience. We integrated the treats into a lively Saran Wrap Ball Game, which turned into a highlight of our week. The prizes made the game even more engaging, and the Biscoff cookies were a particular hit; I was able to share them with the entire student cohort, and many students dropped by throughout the week just to enjoy a treat and check in. This simple gesture of hospitality helped maintain a positive, welcoming environment and kept attendance steady during a period when it typically drops across the district. Your generosity provided more than just snacks; it gave us the tools to foster a supportive classroom culture that makes the hard work of the semester feel manageable and valued.","fullyFundedDate":1765504061546,"projectUrl":"project/its-tricky-to-stuff-a-stocking-but-y/9935804/","projectTitle":"\"It's Tricky\" to Stuff a Stocking, But You Can Help!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Carroll","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7494352_orig.png?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1633468560632","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/denina"},{"teacherId":7494352,"projectId":9952570,"letterContent":"The arrival of the holiday materials provided a genuine sense of appreciation in our classroom. When the students first saw the treats and prizes, there was a visible shift in the energy of the room—a mix of surprise and quiet excitement. For a group that spends so much of their time tackling heavy social-emotional topics and rigorous A-G requirements, seeing tangible evidence that their efforts were recognized by others was deeply impactful. One student mentioned how encouraging it felt to know that people they hadn't even met were rooting for their success, which created a grounded, positive atmosphere for the week.\r\n\r\nWe used the resources for our Saran Wrap Ball Game, which proved to be a wonderful way to balance our \"work hard, play hard\" philosophy. The activity offered a much-needed mental break, allowing students to engage with one another in a relaxed, joyful setting. More importantly, the project served its purpose as a powerful incentive for attendance. During a time of year when student presence typically fluctuates across the district, my students showed up consistently. Having this celebration to look forward to helped us maintain our academic momentum and ensured that everyone finished their intensive support sessions on a high note.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, the students are carrying this positive energy into our next major academic unit. We are currently transitioning into a project focused on community advocacy, where they will apply their collaborative skills to research and write about local social issues. The sense of belonging fostered by your gift has given them a boost of confidence as they dive back into these complex topics. Thank you for helping us create a supportive environment where my students feel valued as they continue to work toward their long-term goals.","fullyFundedDate":1765644704575,"projectUrl":"project/wrap-up-the-cheer-holiday-treats-game/9952570/","projectTitle":"Wrap Up the Cheer!
