The first project we did (as an introduction to the Chompsaw) was for my 5th graders to design and build a desk organizer/pencil holder using cardboard. The constraints were: 1- The students were not allowed to use glue or tape (they had to think about slots and tabs!), 2- The walls had to be at least 4 inches high, and 3- It had to fit within a 6x6 in. square. \r\n\r\nMy students were super excited to try these out! It was impressive to see how their creativity could flow once they realized what they could do with the Chompsaw. They were grateful not to be using our \"cardboard scissors\" anymore. \r\n\r\nI can't wait to use these more next year with other grades and projects!
