Before using this tool, many students struggled with manipulating materials using scissors or tearing cardboard by hand. The Chomp Saw provided a safe, controlled way for young learners to shape their materials with precision, which greatly improved both the quality of their designs and their confidence as builders.\r\nAs students worked through engineering challenges, the tool supported important learning outcomes. Students practiced problem-solving, measurement, design planning, and revision, all key components of the engineering design process. Because the Chomp Saw made it easier to modify their cardboard pieces, students were more willing to test ideas, redesign structures, and experiment with different solutions. This encouraged persistence and creative thinking.\r\nWe also observed strong collaboration among students. While using the tool, students often worked in teams to plan cuts, hold materials steady, and assemble their designs. These moments fostered communication skills and teamwork, which are essential components of successful engineering learning.\r\nMost importantly, the Chomp Saw helped make engineering accessible and engaging for young learners. Students felt empowered to create bridges, towers, vehicles, and imaginative structures from simple cardboard. The ability to cut durable cardboard safely opened the door for more complex builds and deeper exploration of structural stability and design.\r\nOverall, the Chomp Saw tool significantly enhanced our hands-on STEAM learning environment. It supported safe material manipulation, encouraged iterative design, and helped students see themselves as capable engineers.\r\nThank you for supporting tools and resources that inspire curiosity, creativity, and innovation in young learners.","fullyFundedDate":1766433824290,"projectUrl":"project/stem-education-with-chomp-saw-for-elemen/9655707/","projectTitle":"STEM Education with Chomp Saw for Elementary Students","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Phillips","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9480627_orig.jpg?crop=480,480,x0,y48&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1709054044986","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9480627"},{"teacherId":10075525,"projectId":9456126,"letterContent":"I am writing to share the meaningful impact that Osmo has had on my classroom community.\r\nSince introducing Osmo Math into my classroom, I have seen a remarkable increase in student engagement , confidence, and conceptual understanding. The hands-on, interactive design transforms abstract math concepts into tangible learning experiences. Students who previously struggled with number sense and problem-solving are now actively participating, collaborating with peers, and demonstrating measurable growth. One of the most powerful aspects of Osmo is how it supports differentiated instruction.\r\nOsmo Phonics has transformed the way my students engage with reading fundamentals. By combining tactile letter manipulation with interactive digital feedback, the program bridges hands-on learning and technology in a way that is developmentally appropriate and highly engaging. Students are not simply memorizing sounds-they are actively building words, experimenting with phonics patterns, and gaining confidence as emerging readers.\r\nI am grateful for the positive impact this program continues to have and and look forward to expanding its reach to support even more learners.","fullyFundedDate":1759321947897,"projectUrl":"project/stem-lab-igniting-innovation-through-ha/9456126/","projectTitle":"STEM Lab: Igniting Innovation Through Hands-On Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Slade","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10075525_orig.jpg?crop=548,548,x52,y100&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1752186759800","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10075525"},{"teacherId":2848914,"projectId":9059687,"letterContent":"Thank you for your contribution to \"Books by Diverse Authors\". The grant requested picture books, graphic novels, and chapter books that cater to a wide range of ages and students from all grades are finding something they want to read.\r\n\r\nFurthermore, new books contribute to students' academic success by promoting a deeper understanding of different perspectives and encourages empathy and critical thinking.
