We've had a challenge with the children who are with special needs wheelchairs to move up to easels and paint and this table has functioned wonderfully. \r\nThe children were so excited to see the table and that it lifts up to create an easel and yet gave others some room to draw on a flat surface as well. Our special needs children can now reach and draw with our general ed children as well as have access to the supplies on one side of the table. We have a few students with sensory issues and the variety of toys allowed them to find something that will help to calm their body. Your generous donation made it possible for each of our students to take this beloved book home over our winter break. This book is a favorite with our students every year. The predictable text, rhythm and rhyme, and the simple pictures let students catch on quickly. They feel like readers right away and this motivates them to try other books. \r\n\r\nIn our preschool classroom, we read several books to our students each day. They also have a Book Area that is open to them during transitions and free time. We added extra copies from your donation so that there are plenty of copies for everyone. At the level the majority of our students are at, our focus is on concepts of print, knowledge of how books work, comprehension, etc. and just fostering the pure love of literature! \r\n\r\nThey were SO thrilled to have their own copy to take home. We have had several families tell us that their child reads Brown Bear every night at bedtime, or they read to their younger siblings.
