It has brought much excitement from the kids and many compliments from the other teachers and staff. Most importantly, it is a useful and colorful educational tool, simultaneously providing a comfortable sitting space as well as encouraging questions and conversations and lesson ideas.\r\n\r\nUpon receiving the musical carpet, my students were surprised and excited to walk into the room and behold it brightening up the floor. The room has a thinly-carpeted floor over concrete that is uncomfortable to sit on, but now they are able to sit on this cushy carpet to learn and create music. \r\n\r\nEach music symbol on the square encourages questions and helps to build knowledge, and the giant staff in the middle has already been used for learning treble clef notes with the third graders. I anticipate incorporating as many of the symbols as is possible and age-appropriate in future lessons.
