The programs that we have to use to get the images onto items will help them practice measurement, sizing, and creative.\r\nMy students are really excited about learning something new and starting a business. Doing this supports literacy skills, vocabulary buiding, and fluency in Spanish, while also sparking the love of reading. \r\n\r\nWe added novels, graphic novels, fiction, non-fiction, and many other types of books at different reading levels so that students can find something interesting, and at their reading level. In order to promote both positive self image and encourage reading, the books we added to our classroom library through this project have made a huge impact. Through these books students explore both windows and mirrors into the world. For my diverse students, seeing characters they can identify with demographically creates a validating mirror. They can see themselves in the story and how their character makes their way through the world. For other students, the diverse books are creating windows into the world through which they are learning to empathize with the experiences of different people. \r\nAs part of our weekly practice students have choice reading time. Though my classroom is a social studies classroom, I find that giving students a time to select their own reading material can have a positive effect on the classroom environment. When I brought in the stack of books purchased from this project, students were really excited. they couldn't wait to come look through the books and make plans to read the different books during our weekly time. My Latina students in particular seem to be very interested in the books that we added to our library. \r\nIn addition to the books we added, the other supplies, such as the colors of the world markers and conversation dice have also been a helpful addition to our classroom. The conversation dice are used to help build teams during our quarterly group seating changes. The low risk conversation starters make it easy for students to find common ground. Furthermore, the skin color markers help use to create art that is more accurate and inclusive. Our class is very appreciative of all that we received through this project. Your support means the world to us and will have a profound impact on our school community. When my students saw the new journals, coloring book, and stickers, the energy in my \"mindfulness corner\" went up and students flocked to check them out. \r\n\r\nThese resources will be invaluable in helping us create a more supportive and understanding environment for our students. The stickers and calming strips provide students with a sensory outlet when they are feeling stressed. They also serve as visual reminders of the importance of mental well-being and will encourage open conversations about emotions and self-care. The books provide valuable insights and coping mechanisms for students who may be struggling with anxiety, stress, or other mental health challenges. In painting the tables with whiteboard paint, I am seeing students who usually shut down in discussions, engage because they feel less pressure to share aloud. Their ideas are valuable and they are able to collaborate without social anxiety getting in the way. I look forward to planning more activities and lessons where students are able to use their tables to brainstorm and share out!\r\n\r\nWe are incredibly grateful for your commitment to supporting the mental health of young people.
