During large group time, we use the hardwood teaching easel to share stories, practice letter recognition, and work through interactive lessons together. The easel has made it much easier for students to see materials clearly and stay engaged. One of my favorite moments was watching the class gather around as we used the easel to read a story together—students eagerly pointed to pictures, answered questions, and shared their thoughts with excitement.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new materials, their faces lit up with curiosity and joy. They were especially drawn to the calm-down corner tools. The Rainbow Liquid Sensory Viewers quickly became a favorite as students watched the colors slowly move and settle, helping them refocus and relax. The wobble cushion and sensory rings have also been wonderful additions, giving students safe and quiet ways to move their bodies or keep their hands busy while staying calm and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nThese resources are already helping us build important social-emotional skills in our classroom. We are beginning to use the Mindful Maze Garden Pack during quiet moments to practice breathing and mindfulness together. The Gel-Bead Emotion Friends have also helped students talk about how they feel and learn that all emotions are okay. Moving forward, we will continue using these tools as part of our daily routines so students can grow in confidence, self-regulation, and kindness toward one another. Thank you for helping create a classroom where my students feel supported, calm, and excited to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1769177846901,"projectUrl":"project/calm-and-connection-for-young-minds/9764676/","projectTitle":"Calm and Connection for Young Minds","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Zona","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10288704"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_81356","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":566,"numTeachers":54,"percentFrplEligible":73,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":5,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":88,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"1 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"10.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":69.8,"schoolId":81356,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about John F Kennedy Elementary School 7 on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"John F Kennedy Elementary School 7","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-jersey/north-bergen-school-district/john-f-kennedy-elementary-school-7/81356"}
