We've turned a small corner of our schoolyard into a living laboratory, where students plant, observe, and record data on plant growth while learning about ecosystems, nutrition, and sustainability. One special moment was when a student who had never gardened before proudly discovered her first sprouting seed. These hands-on experiences have deepened engagement and curiosity, connecting science, math, and environmental care in meaningful ways. Next, students will design experiments comparing plant growth under different conditions and create digital journals to share their findings with families and our school community. The garden has truly become a space for discovery, teamwork, and pride in learning.","fullyFundedDate":1746456890619,"projectUrl":"project/the-giving-garden/9304461/","projectTitle":"The Giving Garden","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Olguin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6744705_orig.png?crop=1400,1400,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1730249801631","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mr-olguin-97"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_27503","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1954,"numTeachers":79,"percentFrplEligible":63,"percentAsian":46,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":2,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":46,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"24.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":83.1,"schoolId":27503,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about John A Rowland High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"John A Rowland High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/rowland-unified-school-district/john-a-rowland-high-school/27503"}
