We use the magnetic boards during our phonics and word-building lessons, where students manipulate sounds, build words, and adjust their work as they learn. One of my favorite moments has been watching students independently segment sounds, rearrange letters, and proudly check their spelling before sharing their work.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, their excitement was immediate. They were eager to explore the boards, touch the pieces, and get started right away. The ability to neatly organize their materials has helped them stay focused and confident, and even my reluctant learners jumped in with enthusiasm.\r\n\r\nThese resources have made a noticeable difference in student engagement. My students love being hands-on and having ownership of their learning. They are proud of what they create and genuinely look forward to literacy time each day.\r\n\r\nNext, we will continue building on these skills by using the boards for more complex word patterns, spelling practice, and sentence building. Students are becoming more independent and confident learners, and these tools will continue to support their growth as we deepen our reading and writing work. Thank you for giving my students the opportunity to learn in a way that truly meets their needs.","fullyFundedDate":1764611107609,"projectUrl":"project/multisensory-magic-empowering-dyslexic/9528038/","projectTitle":"Multisensory Magic: Empowering Dyslexic Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Korenek","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8475385_orig.jpg?crop=958,958,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1652716069841","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8475385"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_94888","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":659,"numTeachers":52,"percentFrplEligible":13,"percentAsian":21,"percentBlack":9,"percentWhite":47,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":11,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"12.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":83.3,"schoolId":94888,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about John A Baker Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"John A Baker Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/prosper-independent-school-district/john-a-baker-elementary-school/94888"}
