Because of you, my students now have access to a printer and poster board materials that are already making a big difference in how we learn.\r\n\r\nThe printer allows students to produce high-quality work such as research projects, resumes, and presentations, which has increased their confidence and pride in their work. The poster boards have made learning more hands-on, allowing students to create visual projects like crime scene displays and public safety campaigns that build creativity, teamwork, and critical thinking.\r\n\r\nIn a rural district like ours, resources are limited, so your support truly helps bridge that gap. Most importantly, your donation shows my students that someone believes in them. Through this project, students were able to connect important economic concepts with real historical examples of Black entrepreneurs and leaders. This helped students see how microeconomic principles such as decision-making, opportunity cost, supply and demand, and entrepreneurship apply to real-world situations. The project also increased student engagement because they were able to research influential individuals and businesses that made meaningful contributions to the economy and society.\r\n\r\nOne major improvement that resulted from this project is that I was able to gain a printer for my classroom. Having access to a printer has made it much easier to provide students with printed materials, project guidelines, and research resources. It has also allowed students to print their projects, worksheets, and presentations more efficiently. This has helped improve organization in the classroom and has supported students in completing their work more effectively.\r\n\r\nOverall, the Black History and Microeconomics Project has strengthened student learning by combining history with economic concepts while also providing valuable classroom resources that support instruction and student success.","fullyFundedDate":1769106656979,"projectUrl":"project/black-history-and-microeconomics-project/9983975/","projectTitle":"Black History and Microeconomics Project","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Miller-Faust","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10397078"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_24502","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":80,"numTeachers":4,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":90,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":1,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"10 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"20.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":null,"schoolId":24502,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Joe Barnes Career Technical Center on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Joe Barnes Career Technical Center","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/mississippi/west-bolivar-consolidated-school-district/joe-barnes-vocational-center/24502"}
