The population of students I was hoping the project would impact are our junior high and high school kids. Many of students have trained to be peer leaders and attend Sources of Strength meetings weekly. SoS is a suicide prevention and mental health promotion program that teaches resilience, well-being, help-seeking, healthy coping, and a sense of belonging. The yoga mats, meditation cushions, breathing balls, resistant bands, exercise balls, and instructional cards have allowed us to have \"Wellness Warriors\" and \"Mindful Movement\" classes throughout the school week. \r\n I was certain that the kids would really like having their very own yoga mat and accessories for these classes. What I did not expect from this project was the impact these materials would have on our younger students. Our kindergarteners, the\"Pandemic Babies\", struggle with cognitive, emotional, and behavioral regulation and are being taught ways to take deep breaths and calm down without screaming, crying or fighting. The cushions, breathing balls, and chair yoga have played a big role in their social-emotional learning. Your donation has impacted almost all of our students, K-12, and we are just getting started.
