They matched my excited with their enthusiasm to start a new unit that most have never even heard of before! \r\n\r\nFrom the very first hit, my students were hooked. They love how quickly they can become successful at this fun yet intense new game. Many students even asked when and where they could play more pickleball! \r\n\r\nOur next steps for using this equipment is to expand from playing in Physical Education class, to playing before and afterschool during our club time. In the future I can see this becoming a sport that we play other schools competitively too! \r\n\r\nThank you again for your amazing contributions. It's sometimes the small things that make the biggest impact. And so it is in this case, where simply by putting some tennis balls onto the bottoms of the desks and chairs, I've managed to create a classroom free of noisy clangs and scratches of metal on tile. Students can easily slid their chairs out to sit and back in again before they leave. Desks can be re-arranged to form larger groups of students.\r\nReading time has become \"quiet time\" even when students leave their seat to select a new book or sharpen their pencil. Other students don't even notice! It's been a lovely addition to the room, and many of my fellow teachers have complimented the idea.\r\nI want you to know that I really appreciate it. Our team was ecstatic to see the new and improved nets at their first practice of the season. \r\n\r\nDue to limited availability for regulation soccer fields, our team must practice on a modified field at our school. These nets have provided a more realistic approach to our practices and game play. These nets allow for our goalkeepers to practice on bigger nets than we previously had. In addition, our strikers are able to work on their accuracy with better targets during our training sessions. \r\n\r\nWe are thankful everyday that we use these nets. We are also off to a great start this season at 1-0! To be honest I took a chance to get students to do something \"old school\" that didn't require technology to get them to work together. To my surprise they love the mystery puzzles and the rotating board. The sorting trays has helped us organize these massive puzzles tremendously. I'm so proud of my students and grateful that they have this new experience that will turn into a calming mental break activity they can carry into their adulthood. The students are so eager to complete their work to get extra time to solve the puzzles. I've seen more team work and better discussions because of this project.
