As a new kindergarten teacher I wanted to make sure that my students had the best. The snap bot, easel with engineer a coaster, alpha bots and number bots to name a few are all popular items in my classroom. STEM activities and manipulatives allow for hands-on learning and allow students to explore the world of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. strengthen turn taking, language skills, and positive peer relationships. Kindergarten students often lack fine-motor skills. The STEM activities and manipulatives are helping our little hands gain strength by building and creating.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials arrived they were all so excited to get to use them. They saw the boxes and were very curious about when I would introduce them. I am so thankful for the support for this project. We are also enjoying using our dry erase boards for small groups to teacher reading, writing and math. I am going to attach some pictures of some of them using the products. \r\n\r\nI plan to do another project soon so that I can provide even more manipulatives and STEM toys for my students. I have been blessed with a great school, great mentors and GREAT donors. My students are really enjoying the use of the voice recorders to practice speaking and listening with their classmates. We use the recorders during math, science, reading, and writing. It helps students with fluency and developing language skills. Students are exposed to grammar and language by listening to themselves and others. They are able to critique themselves using a rubric and then correct any mistakes they may have made. In the pictures, a newcomer group, was able to play a fun game that enabled them to review adjectives while practicing speaking and listening skills. They were recording their answers, asking questions, and listening to the recordings. I have always had a listening center in my classroom but it either took books on tape or books on cd and I would use either a portable cd player or a tape player. Over the years it has become extremely difficult to find books that have that component so my listening center options were very limited. I decide to write this donors choose to get an ipad for my listening center so my students would have more variety. This has been a great addition to our classroom centers and my students love to go there and watch and listen to stories they love and new stories they havent heard before. I purchased a listening center qr code bundle and now I have new options for them every month. I love watching them and listening to them talk about the stories they have heard.
