This makes it easier for them to follow their steps.\r\n\r\nWhat can I say about the pencils? The new technology allows them to record, edit, and publish their own stories, giving them an authentic platform to practice reading, writing, and speaking skills in a way that feels fun and meaningful. For many of my special education students, traditional assignments can feel overwhelming, but podcasting gives them the chance to share their ideas in their own voices. The microphones, editing tools, and recording setup make the process feel professional, which motivates them to put in their best effort.\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting parts for my students has been hearing their voices played back to them with clear sound quality. It has boosted their confidence and helped them take pride in their work. They love being able to add music, sound effects, and creative touches, and they are always eager to share their finished podcasts with classmates, friends, and family. This has turned into an engaging way to practice communication skills while building teamwork and collaboration.\r\n\r\nI've already seen particular students who are often shy in class step into leadership roles during podcasting sessions. One student who usually avoids speaking aloud has become one of our strongest narrators, proudly recording full story segments. Another student with difficulty organizing thoughts has thrived by using the podcast script templates, which give structure while still allowing creativity. Thanks to your generosity, my students are discovering new ways to express themselves, build confidence, and see learning as something exciting and relevant.","fullyFundedDate":1745160812876,"projectUrl":"project/podcasting-for-literacy-empowering-stud/9215228/","projectTitle":"Podcasting for Literacy: Empowering Student Voices Through Storytelling","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Bell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9870203_orig.jpg?crop=1120,1120,x0,y138&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1733851073594","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9870203"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_52450","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":551,"numTeachers":40,"percentFrplEligible":72,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":35,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":58,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"13.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":50.0,"schoolId":52450,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Jefferson Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Jefferson Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/idaho/caldwell-school-district/jefferson-middle-school/52450"}
