We began with hatching duck eggs. The process of hatching taught the students so much about the development process and stages the egg goes through. Students learned a great deal about adjusting temperature, humidity and the moisture impact on the eggs. We were able to candle several eggs and get a better look at the process. Our ducks went on to live at the farm school in our town which provides students a unique opportunity to visit and interact and learn about several animals. \r\nWe just recently hatched chicken eggs. The students maintained the incubator the entire time and helped with candling eggs. This round of hatching was very much student based and students checked humidity and temperature daily. Students also prepared the eggs for lock down this time and monitored the hatching process. Students were able to observe the stages of development in the unhatched eggs as well.","fullyFundedDate":1752916516296,"projectUrl":"project/peep-into-science/9455040/","projectTitle":"Peep Into Science","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Polivick","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8970383"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_58141","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":416,"numTeachers":22,"percentFrplEligible":94,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":22,"percentWhite":47,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":11,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"18.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":76.9,"schoolId":58141,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Jefferson Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Jefferson Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/kentucky/henderson-county-school-district/jefferson-elementary-school/58141"}
